31 Days of Brave Hearts || Day 24, Kendra Eubank

kendra

She is a go-getter and a do-gooder.  She is whip-smart and sassy, to boot.  She is full of love.  Meet Kendra.

What is your superpower? My determination, which could sometimes be looked at as stubbornness. But I feel however you look at it has been positive in my life. I have never given up, even if I didn’t succeed in the ways I would have originally hoped, I put forth all I could and did my best.

Who do you adore? I adore my grandfather and my husband the most. My grandfather has been such a guiding light ever since I was little. He has so much compassion and wisdom and always has the right words to say. My husband has been such an inspiration and always there for me even when I didn’t realize he was what I needed in that very moment. He has supported me in everything I have decided to do and has been my biggest fan.

Describe your brave heart outfit. I feel my best and most confident when I am in something comfortable but stylish. In this case, I would say leggings with boots and a nice tunic.

What is your favorite movie? I love 80’s movies. All of them!! However, The Breakfast Club is probably my favorite. I love it because despite all their differences, these five high school students were able to be real with each other and get on a personal level.

What was the best trip ever? Last year, my husband and I went to the beach with our son and his parents. We went to the Outer Banks (a place none of us had visited before). Not only was it beautiful and a change from our fast paced routine but my husband and I also were able to renew our vows on the beach which was so special to us.

What is the best gift you’ve received? Love from my family and friends.

What is the ultimate party? Sitting around a fire with good friends reminiscing.

Your mother always told you… To pray and trust God.

What/where is your happy place? A hammock in the woods.

What fuels you? To know that I am making a difference.

What’s in your office? I have a lot of inspiration quotes in my office that helps me stay positive but the one that helps me stay grounded the most is the one that sits right next to my computer. It is verse Jeremiah 29:11. Your car? Last winter my husband and son sat in the car while I went into the store to get a few things. When I came out my husband drew a snow man and put it on my dash (he’s very artistic so it was a very cute snowman). I still have it there on my dash and every time I look at it, it makes me smile.

What is your shelter/refuge? Nature- being able to go hiking, kayaking. Anything that gets me outdoors.

What is your favorite word? Understanding.

What are you scared of? Unhappiness.

What did you study? In undergraduate school I studied social science, religion and human services. In graduate school I studied social work.

What gives you courage? My son.

What is your most cherished thing? The love I share with my husband and the relationship I have with Jesus Christ.

How would your BFF describe you? I actually asked my closest friends for this. They stated: outgoing, pretty, religious/Christian, kind, trendy, driven, motivated, caring, dedicated, good wife and mother.

What do you love most about yourself? My ability to see good in almost all things.
